Bliss

Good, Brighton ski resort found a taker for their billboards poking fun at Mormons.
Here is a good article in the public forum of the Tribune, not just because it points out the strangeness of Mormons, but because it’s all true. No other newspaper in the state would print something like that–they fear the truth.
And wow–here is another public forum article that addresses the Women for Decency group trying to ban those “smutty” magazine covers that you see while waiting in line at the grocery store (previously talked about here). It makes a very good point.
As you can probably tell, not much has been going on lately, hence all the spewing forth of Salt Lake Tribune articles. =) This week has been very relaxing–my mother-in-law is out of state for work, so my phone hasn’t been ringing off the hook, and my wife has actually been home all week, rather than running around with her mom. Some people just never let go of that dependence they have on their parents, and others can never accept the fact that their children have families of their own now. I suppose it will never end, either–20 years from now, I’ll be competing with a headstone for my wife’s company.

  1. You don’t have to time travel to know the truth. The Church “borrowed” heavily from other religions and particularly heavily from the Masons. That’s why early Mormons called themselves “peculiar” and everyone else agreed. They were consistently engaging in what was considered an outrageous lifestyle in a very straitlaced, Victorian society. Only in the last 50 years, have they tried to appear more mainstream. If you want to understand your religion, I would suggest going past church propaganda and learn how the rest of the world sees it.

  2. I know it’s true because it is well documented. You see, we are each taking somebody’s word for the “truth,” when in fact neither of us were alive back then to know for sure. The fact that the church is trying to remove its own historical documents from public scrutiny only goes to further my opinion of it. Rather than denying what is being said and offering proof in their favor, they are stifling everything that is being said.
