In Hot Water

I picked up a new water heater on Tuesday in Richfield, and I managed to get it installed yesterday without too much trouble. The only problem I had is that one of the 90° elbows on the old plumbing wouldn’t come off, even using a 24″ pipe wrench. I ended up removing the the pipe that the elbow was attached to, instead of just the elbow, so I had to go back to the hardware store to get a replacement pipe. Everything went together smoothly after that, and I had the water heater up and running by early evening. It’s been nice having a dry floor and no more clunking sound whenever it’s heating the water. I’ve been hearing that clunking sound for ten years, and replacing the water heater was so much easier than I thought it would be that I wish I had done this years ago.
