The Champ posted a link to this news story about a horse falling off a 700 foot cliff at Fossil Point near Moab, Utah. That must have made an awful mess. What’s funny about it, though, is that Fossil Point is very near Dead Horse Point, which got its name when (you guessed it) a horse fell off and died.
That part of Utah isn’t very friendly to horses, I guess. 🙂 I remember going to Dead Horse Point (where they filmed M:I-2) several years ago and tried unsuccessfully to catch some lizards to throw off. The drop-off is about 2,000 feet (yes, that’s two thousand) straight down. You could throw a 6-inch diameter rock off and you wouldn’t see it hit the ground. I couldn’t imagine what the fall would do to a horse.
