Last weekend was one of the few recently when I did something truly productive. I took the whole family to Sigurd to help some friends start remodeling their basement. We moved belongings out of the basement, some of which went on the trailer destined for the landfill. As each room was cleared out, we ripped out sheetrock and insulation and took it to the trailer as well. It was a long day, and it was harder than I’d worked in a long time, but working with friends was still more fun that doing just about anything else alone. We got home late and just had time to shower before going to bed.
Sunday was Mother’s Day. I fixed Traci breakfast, then she went to church with her mom while I took the boys out and placed a geocache. When Traci returned home, we all went over and visited with my mom for a while. The rest of the day was pretty uneventful, and I got a few hours to myself while Traci took the kids to visit her mom. It felt good to have a day of rest after a day of hard work.
