From the Salt Lake Tribune: Women Uniting for War on Porn:
“The parallels between [smut and terror] are uncanny,” says Women For Decency Director Janalyn Holt. “Pornography destroys families. It’s not a one-time shot like an airplane flying into the World Trade Center. But little by little, blow by blow, it can be just as destructive. We are getting bombarded on all sides.”
I don’t really think it’s appropriate to compare pornography to the deaths of 6,000 people, nor do I think they are anywhere near being right. If I accidentally catch a glimpse of myself naked in the mirror (gasp!), is that any different than seeing an advertisement in a magazine with a shirtless man? What is so inherently evil about the human body? Not a damn thing. I’m sure these women will be largely unsuccessful, mostly because not many people will take them seriously. I know I sure don’t.
…don’t trust anything that bleeds for 5 days and doesn’t die.
