Subaru Clutch Replacement - December 12, 2002

Engine and transmission, before I started any major work Side view Me removing the rear cross-member The Subaru in the air, with exhaust removed Right halfshaft disconnected Driveshaft, starter, and rear cross-member on the garage floor Front suspension disassembled Car minus transmission, top-front view Car minus transmission, side view Car minus transmission, bottom-front view, with shift linkages hanging down Transmission sitting next to car Me tearing off what was left of the release fork boot Flywheel with pressure plate and clutch disk removed Flywheel out of car, with pilot bearing removed Rear of engine, with flywheel removed New throwout bearing connected to transmission Throwout bearing retaining clip (I had to drive 75 miles to Orem to get this damned piece) New release fork boot Flywheel installed with new pilot bearing New clutch and pressure plate installed, with alignment tool My handy-dandy engine lift tool (actually a disc brake pad spreader) Transmission nearly installed - just one more inch to go Jack holding up the rear of the transmission (I used an engine hoist to lift the front)
